Harpreet Kaur Singh is the CEO and founding lawyer of HKS Law. With a strong background as both a legal professional and a real estate investor, she brings a unique perspective to her practice.

Under her leadership, HKS Law has grown into a full-service firm offering legal expertise in civil litigation, family law, immigration, and real estate, handling matters ranging from construction disputes and zoning issues to corporate immigration and family matters.

Known for her strategic, business-minded approach, Harpreet combines her legal knowledge with her experience as an investor to provide clients with practical and results-driven solutions. Her commitment is to guide clients through complex legal processes with clarity, professionalism, and a personal touch.

Immigration 

Joan Ohizua is a Nigerian-Canadian who immigrated to Canada at a young age.  She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto,  majoring in Ethics, Law, and Society, with minors in Political Science  and Sociology. Joan furthered her education at  the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, where she completed  her Law degree, earning a Bachelor of Laws while also gaining valuable  exposure to diverse cultures through travel. 

Throughout her career, Joan has demonstrated a strong commitment to advocacy, having worked with  nonprofit organizations focused on immigration, employment and  facilitated leadership and networking workshops for post-secondary  students and newcomers. Her legal journey started with working with  refugee claims, then to Toronto Bay Street immigration law firm, where  she solely managed sponsorship and economic files for approval.

I’m Nischay K. Sakhuja, a foreign qualified lawyer and trained legal professional  bridging the world of law, business, and administration. I am your go-to ally for navigating complex legal processes with efficiency, precision, and strategic foresight.

Qualified  as a lawyer in India and working as a Law Clerk at HKS Law, currently  completing my Paralegal Graduate Certificate at Humber College, I bring  more than four years’ of international experience in core legal research, drafting, contract administration, immigration review and filings, and corporate compliance across India, the U.S., and Canada.

My  background spans into in-house litigations, immigration procedures,  intellectual property matters, commercial contracts, and real estate,  with proven ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional legal environments.

Finally as an accepted NCA Candidate,  my goal is to connect global legal expertise with modern business  practices like helping organizations anticipate risks, negotiate  contracts, safeguard interests, and grow confidently globally.

The  law can be intricate, regulations ever-changing, and procedures  demanding but with the right expertise on your side, clarity and  structured action follow. That’s the mindset I bring to every client and  every case.

Gurmehak Kaur is a dedicated Real Estate Law Clerk at HKS Law, supporting clients and lawyers through every stage of residential and commercial transactions. With a strong eye for detail and organizational excellence, she ensures that purchase, sale, and refinancing matters are managed efficiently from start to finish.

Her role includes preparing and reviewing closing documents, coordinating with clients, lenders, and real estate agents, and ensuring all compliance requirements are met. Gurmehak is committed to providing a seamless client experience and takes pride in her ability to balance professionalism with approachability.

Her focus is on making complex real estate processes smooth and stress-free for clients, while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and care.

Sales & Marketing Team 

Drition is a key member of the Sales & Marketing Team at HKS Law, where he plays a vital role in building client relationships and expanding the firm’s reach.

His responsibilities include developing outreach strategies, managing client inquiries, and ensuring that every prospective client receives a professional and welcoming experience. Drition also supports the firm’s marketing initiatives by coordinating campaigns, tracking leads, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Passionate about helping people access legal services, Drition ensures that HKS Law remains approachable, client-focused, and positioned for long-term success.

Intern & Sales Team  

Japneet began her journey with HKS Law as an intern, where she quickly demonstrated initiative, dedication, and a strong interest in the legal field. During her internship, she gained valuable exposure to the inner workings of a law firm, supporting both administrative and client-focused tasks.

Recognizing her drive and adaptability, Japneet took a major leap forward to become a part of the Sales Team. In her current role, she focuses on building meaningful client connections, supporting lead generation, and ensuring that individuals seeking legal services feel guided and supported from their first point of contact.

Japneet’s unique perspective—combining her background in legal training with her enthusiasm for client relations—enables her to bridge the gap between law and service. She brings warmth, professionalism, and determination to every interaction, making her a valued member of the HKS Law team.

Billing

Marina’s story is one of resilience and determination. Having immigrated from Ukraine, she embraced the challenges of building a new life in Canada with courage and persistence. Her journey reflects not only her personal strength but also her commitment to contributing meaningfully to the Canadian economy and community.

At HKS Law, Marina works exclusively in the Billing Department, where she ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes. Her attention to detail and dedication to her work allow the firm to operate seamlessly and maintain the highest standards of accountability.
